Meet the Peterson Wealth Advisory Team
Our team is here for you, and your retirement, every step of the way.
Scott is the founder and principal investment advisor of Peterson Wealth Advisors. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1986 and has since specialized in financial management for retirees. Scott has broken ground in the retirement planning industry as the architect of the Perennial Income Model™, a planning tool that helps retirees manage their investments throughout retirement. Scott is the author of Maximize Your Retirement Income and Plan on Living: The Retiree’s Guide to Lasting Income & Enduring Wealth. Scott is a regular presenter at BYU’s Education Week and speaks often at other seminars regarding financial decision-making at retirement.
Scott and his wife, Tracie, have five children. He enjoys serving his community in various civic and religious endeavors. Scott loves spending time with his family in the outdoors. They can be found boating in the summer or skiing in the winter.
What is your goal for every Peterson Wealth Advisors client?
I do not want clients to worry about money. I want them to know that they have a sound, intelligent, goal-based retirement plan that is designed to withstand the test of time. As we implement the plan and manage the details, we hope that clients can concentrate on enjoying their retirement and not be concerned about their finances.
What would you want a prospective client to know about Peterson Wealth Advisors?
We specialize in all retirement issues, therefore, we do more than just investments. We coordinate a total retirement plan for our clients and we help them stick with that plan throughout their retirement experience. We take care of our clients, this is not a once-and-done shop, we are in continual contact with our clients as we help them improve their lives.
What do you enjoy most about working with clients?
I got into this business because I like working with people and then I found that I really liked working with retirees. They have had money invested for decades prior to retiring and they have learned a thing or two from their experiences. I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction collaborating with clients as we consider their retirement income needs. Creating, implementing and then managing carefully crafted financial plans through the various stages of retirement is very gratifying.
How do you best help retirees?
I have seen a lot over the last three decades as I have helped numerous clients through almost every conceivable circumstance. Managing money during retirement is much more challenging than accumulating money for retirement. For accumulators, market volatility is your friend as you systematically contribute to a 401K. However, market volatility can be devastating when it comes to distributing retirement assets if investments are not allocated and distributed properly. Only a goal-based retirement income plan will provide you the results that you will need to maintain a lifetime of retirement income. Therefore, we have created the Perennial Income Model™ to help you reach your goals.
Jeff is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and has also earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ certification from the College for Financial Planning. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Utah State University with a minor in Economics. Jeff’s passion for retirement planning began when he took a retirement planning course in college. He has been fascinated with retirement planning ever since. Jeff has been with Peterson Wealth Advisors for the past 10 years.
Jeff is happily married to his wife Becca and has five children. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, scuba diving, and being involved in singing groups.

We work to understand a client’s needs, then we try to put ourselves in their place by thinking about what we would do if we were in their situation. If you are thinking about retiring or are retired, we are here to help.
What is your goal for every Peterson Wealth Advisors client?
The goal is to have a good plan for each client, for them to understand the plan and then to follow the plan throughout their retirement.

I want to help others avoid potential pitfalls so that they can minimize taxes, increase their investments, and live their dreams.
