I’m Scott, the founder and managing partner of Peterson Wealth Advisors. Of all the opportunities I’ve been blessed to participate in throughout my almost 40-year career, I’m most proud of what we do for our clients each and every day. I’ve surrounded myself with wonderful CFP® professionals and a support staff that take excellent care of our 650+ retired families. Indeed, it is an honor to be trusted by our retirees to manage $800 million of their hard-earned dollars that they accumulated during their working careers. It’s that trust that gets me out of bed each morning, excited to help good people achieve great retirements.
At an early age, the concept of compound interest fascinated me. It was real-life magic! As a college student, I recognized the tremendous good that I could accomplish by becoming a financial advisor and helping ordinary families harness that magic. Now, I get a lot of satisfaction as I see our team help our clients see a financial way forward that they may not have previously considered. It is gratifying to develop long-term friendships and then be there to help our friends navigate life through all the stages of retirement.
When I started Peterson Wealth Advisors, I wanted to create a business environment that was based on truthful principles, not encumbered with conflicts of interest like commissions, and that solved the concerns of retirees with understandable, common-sense solutions. After managing money through the dot-com bubble bursting and 9/11, it became clear to me that conventional investment management methods that our industry used at the time, and still uses, didn’t work for the modern retiree. Trying to guess the future and outperforming the markets through individual investment selection are not reliable tactics, and they don’t have track records that justify their use.
My search for a better way to manage retiree’s money through existing products or processes was unsuccessful. So, in 2008 I created our own approach which resulted in the creation of the Perennial Income Model™. The Perennial Income Model has since revolutionized the way finances are managed during retirement. I can’t imagine a more fulfilling way to spend my time than showing people who don’t know how to retire, or even if they can retire, the path to a secure, inflation adjusted retirement that will last for the rest of their lives.
My favorite client story
It’s hard to choose only one story because the same story is repetitive with our clients. A new retiree finds us, and we collaborate to come up with a customized retirement income plan that will last their lifetime. As they follow the plan, the client learns to trust their advisors and The Perennial Income Model through the inevitable ups and downs of the markets, as well as the twists and turns of retired life. Through it all, we have the privilege to serve as trusted partners and reliable friends. This profound responsibility that we assume has often lasted more than thirty years and continues until we safely deliver the final proceeds of their estate according to their wishes.

What is your goal for every Peterson Wealth Advisors client?
I do not want clients to worry about money. I want them to know that they have a sound, intelligent, goal-based retirement plan that is designed to withstand the test of time. As we implement the plan and manage the details, we hope that clients can concentrate on enjoying their retirement and not be concerned about their finances.
What would you want a prospective client to know about Peterson Wealth Advisors?
We specialize in all retirement issues, therefore, we do more than just investments. We coordinate a total retirement plan for our clients and we help them stick with that plan throughout their retirement experience. We take care of our clients, this is not a once-and-done shop, we are in continual contact with our clients as we help them improve their lives.
What do you enjoy most about working with clients?
I got into this business because I like working with people and then I found that I really liked working with retirees. They have had money invested for decades prior to retiring and they have learned a thing or two from their experiences. I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction collaborating with clients as we consider their retirement income needs. Creating, implementing and then managing carefully crafted financial plans through the various stages of retirement is very gratifying.
How do you best help retirees?
I have seen a lot over the last three decades as I have helped numerous clients through almost every conceivable circumstance. Managing money during retirement is much more challenging than accumulating money for retirement. For accumulators, market volatility is your friend as you systematically contribute to a 401K. However, market volatility can be devastating when it comes to distributing retirement assets if investments are not allocated and distributed properly. Only a goal-based retirement income plan will provide you the results that you will need to maintain a lifetime of retirement income. Therefore, we have created the Perennial Income Model™ to help you reach your goals.

Hello, I’m Jeff. I’ve been with Peterson Wealth Advisors for 13 years, and in personal finance for more than 20. Every day, I get to work with clients and take uncertainty out of their futures, helping them move forward into retirement more confidently. It’s been an amazing way to spend my career.
When I was studying finance, my retirement planning class opened my eyes to the importance of financial planning. With that inspiration driving me forward, I met Scott Peterson at the perfect time. Together, we built out the Perennial Income Model™ to help people outlive their retirement savings. The PIM has so powerfully transformed the quality of retirement for our clients; I am proud to have been a part of bringing the model into reality.
I feel so lucky that my passion—financial planning—makes it possible for me to work with remarkable people every day and help them make better decisions than they would on their own. It’s a real privilege.
My favorite client story
We ran an analysis for a client who was a business owner and helped him find the right time to stop working and sell his part of the business. Figuring out the right timing wasn’t easy because of how the business was valued. However, he was able to exit at the right time for his situation and, at the same time, empower the next generation of business owners to take the reins successfully. I’m happy to report that the client enjoys a wonderful retirement, including Senior Missions and other meaningful experiences while he is still young enough to appreciate them.

What would you want a prospective client to know about Peterson Wealth Advisors?
We are expert retirement income planners. We build a plan based upon a client’s goals and then we manage according to that plan. We take a disciplined approach to investing, we aren’t swayed by the news of the day and we don’t chase yesterday’s returns.
We work to understand a client’s needs, then we try to put ourselves in their place by thinking about what we would do if we were in their situation. If you are thinking about retiring or are retired, we are here to help.
What is your goal for every Peterson Wealth Advisors client?
The goal is to have a good plan for each client, for them to understand the plan and then to follow the plan throughout their retirement.
What do you enjoy about working with clients?
Every client has their own unique situation and circumstances. I love digging into the details with clients and understanding their financial life then adding value. I enjoy getting to know different people and working with them over a lifetime.

I’m Alex, and I’m a partner and senior advisor at Peterson Wealth. I’ve been working in personal finance for more than 10 years. When I started college, I studied psychology, finance, and even secondary education before being introduced to financial planning as a possible career. I quickly realized that financial planning was the perfect blend of all three disciplines.
Around the time I switched to financial planning as a major, I was sharing my choice with my 75-year-old grandfather, who owned a local restaurant. He told me in response, “I made a lot of money in my career…it would have been nice to still have some.” My grandfather was still working at 75 because he couldn’t afford to retire. That solidified my decision and underscored the real need for financial planning in people’s lives.
Now, every day, I use what I’ve learned in psychology to understand the emotional side of money, in finance understand the math side of money, and education to explain complex ideas simply – so clients feel confident in their retirement decisions.
My favorite client story
One of my clients did a great job of saving and being frugal…so much so that it’s been hard for them to spend their money, even though they can afford it. They really wanted to have a home near their grandkids. I let them know that they COULD absolutely afford it and should buy the home.
They were comparing two homes, and it was significantly more to get the home on the same street as their son, compared to a home 15 minutes away. I persuaded them to buy the home that was closer to family. Now, every time we meet, they tell me this was the best decision they ever made and are so grateful I pushed them to buy the home on the same street. Now, their grandkids run to their house every day. There’s no better return on investment than that!

I grew up in Orem, Utah, as the second child of eight. Today, I live in Vineyard with my amazing wife, three sons and a daughter. I’m married to the strongest woman in the world – she’s had a lot of health trials the last 10 years including surviving stage three breast cancer (with a 3- and 1-year-old!). After that, we went through multiple failed rounds of IVF before having our two back-to-back “Miracle Babies” naturally.
I enjoy sports (both playing and watching), love the outdoors and running, and participate in endurance races whenever I can. I had the great privilege of serving an LDS mission in Manchester, England. My wife and I are self-proclaimed foodies and love trying new restaurants.
What would you want a prospective client to know about Peterson Wealth Advisors?
We offer a common-sense approach to investing and retirement planning. We listen to our clients, then build a plan according to their goals and values. We don’t just look after our client’s investments, we are planners that manage every aspect of a client’s financial life – taxes, social security, charitable giving, and more. We are experts in retirement planning.
What is your goal for every Peterson Wealth Advisor client?
My goal for every client is for them to feel confident in their spending and finances so they can focus on the more important parts of retirement like fostering relationships and doing what they love.
What do you enjoy most about working with clients?
I’ve found that once a client knows they’ll have enough income to maintain their lifestyle in retirement, while keeping up with inflation, they’re able to more fully enjoy their retirement experience. Being able to help clients have this peace of mind with their finances, so they can focus on the more important things in life, is what I enjoy most.

Hello, I’m Daniel, and I’ve had the pleasure of serving with Peterson Wealth Advisors for nearly seven years. I’ve been hooked on personal finance since high school, when I took a finance course that taught me about compound interest. From there, I was in love! And I’ve always been the type of person who enjoys knowing all the “rules” and making the most of them, so financial planning was a natural fit.
But what really gave me the confidence I needed to pursue a career as a financial planner was my LDS mission to Ghana. The communication skills and comfort with people I developed over this experience have served me well. Now, more than anything, I enjoy helping clients feel comfortable with their finances and giving them the relief and certainty they need when they’re worried. Telling clients, “YES, you have enough saved to last your whole retirement…and here’s how we’ll make it work,” is one of my favorite experiences.

We’ve helped so many clients navigate the worries of retirement, it’s hard to pick just one. They come to us not knowing what to do about Social Security, Medicare, pensions, investments, everything. We take all these questions and worries and make an easy-to-follow plan that provides them income for the rest of their lives. We also helped dozens of seniors embark on missions that changed their lives and the lives of countless others.

What would you want a prospective client to know about Peterson Wealth Advisors?

This allows us to choose the lowest cost and best performing investments for our clients.
It would also be helpful to know that Peterson Wealth Advisors specializes in helping individuals and families in and approaching retirement. Financial planning for retirees is our expertise.
What do you enjoy most about working with clients?
Every client has a unique situation consisting of different goals, dreams, and income desires. It is challenging yet rewarding to take each individual’s different situation and develop the best plan to help guide them through retirement.

After working with individuals and families to navigate their financial futures for nearly 10 years, I have found that I am passionate about specializing in retirement planning. Working at Fidelity Investments for several years, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a better, more impactful way for me to apply my skills and education…something that allowed me to more directly transform client lives.
That’s when I found Peterson Wealth Advisors. Now, I get to combine my love for numbers and helping people, giving my clients peace of mind and empowering them to focus on what really matters to them. For me, it all starts with listening to my clients so I can truly understand what’s most meaningful to them. I have found that making the planning process more collaborative, involving the client in a more meaningful way can help retirees walk away feeling confident about their plan and their retirement.
What excites me most every day is knowing the impact our work has on people’s lives. I genuinely enjoy diving into the details—whether it’s tax planning, charitable giving, or a new change in a client’s life such as a trip, senior mission, or grandchildren—because I know those strategies can help clients save money, avoid mistakes, and feel more confident about their future. That combination of analysis and meaningful impact is what makes this work beyond rewarding for me.
My favorite client story
I once had a client who came into our meeting carrying a huge stack of unorganized papers, completely overwhelmed, and panicked about retirement. Every time I asked a question, he would fumble through that pile, unsure of what he had or what it all meant.
Over the course of several meetings, we carefully sorted through everything, clarified his situation, and built a plan that gave him real confidence and peace—a reliable, inflation-adjusted stream of income that he could count on for the rest of his life.
Fast forward a year, and the transformation was incredible. That same client now walks into our meetings relaxed and at ease. The stack of papers is gone. Instead, he sits back in his chair and tells me about the projects he’s working on in retirement—even the ones his wife “assigns” him. Watching that shift from anxious and uncertain to happily focused on what really matters in life has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Outside of work, my faith and family are what matter most. Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m full of energy and love to be a little silly, just to make people smile. I’m especially passionate about pickleball and basketball (maybe a little too passionate, if you ask my wife) because I love the competition and the chance to keep improving.

I’m Alek, and I’ve been an advisor with Peterson Wealth Advisors for almost five years. My journey into financial advising has been anything but linear. I’ve always known I wanted to help people in a meaningful way, but for a long time, I wasn’t sure what that would look like. During college, a close family friend passed away, leaving his wife overwhelmed and unsure how she would manage financially. Watching her struggle made me realize just how critical financial guidance is—and how deeply it can affect people’s lives.
That experience made financial planning deeply personal for me. It’s not just about building financial plans or optimizing numbers—it’s about building trust. I love when clients open up and share their goals, concerns, and values, and I get to translate that into a financial strategy that helps them live the life they want.
My philosophy is to give clients clarity and confidence about their retirement by making income planning simple, structured, and sustainable. This approach turns an overwhelming question — “Will I have enough?” — into a clear, step-by-step plan that’s flexible and easy to understand.
Every day brings a new challenge and a new conversation. I get to learn each client’s story, translate their goals into a plan, and watch the relief and excitement that comes when things finally “click.” That sense of making a difference, of giving people both peace of mind and possibility, is what gets me up and keeps me motivated every single day.
My favorite client story
One of my clients lost her husband to cancer at a very young age, totally unexpected. She had six kids, and no clear path forward on where income would come from, how to handle their current investments, or the life insurance payouts. She was left with so much confusion and financial uncertainty, on top of the grief and challenge of managing a family on her own. I helped her organize her financial life, give her peace of mind, and take all of the headache out of her financial plan.

What would you want a prospective client to know about Peterson Wealth Advisors?
Peterson Wealth values every client relationship. We want to have a great relationship with our clients just as much as a client wants a good relationship with their advisors. We take the time to get to know our clients and focus on helping them achieve their goals. We meet with our clients regularly to ensure their questions are being answered.
What is your goal for every Peterson Wealth Advisor client?
I want to take the stress out of finances when it comes to our clients. Throughout retirement, there are much more important things to be focused on than the ins and outs of finances. I want my clients to enjoy doing what they love most and spend their money confidently knowing that they have a plan in place that meets their needs.

“The best time to have a good financial plan was 20 years ago. The next best time is today.” |
I’m Kaden, and I’ve been an advisor at Peterson Wealth Advisors for nearly 3 years. Early in my college education, I discovered a love for all things personal finance. Growing up, I knew my parents were savers who were frugal and smart with money, but they kept those savings in certificates of deposit (CDs) or a savings account. When I was in college, I remember reviewing a graph comparing stock performance against bonds, CDs and other savings vehicles. I realized then how much potential growth my parents had missed out on because they were not familiar with and did not get help to invest. After that, I felt drawn to educate others and guide them toward wise financial decisions and help them avoid a similar fate.
Now, I enjoy building relationships with my clients. I take an educational approach, helping clients understand why I’m making a particular recommendation. Being able to help someone through a financial situation where they don’t understand or provide the guidance they need to make confident decisions is my favorite part of my job.
My favorite client story
I had clients who had heard about doing Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from their IRA to charities, but they chose to continue making their donations in cash. It was what they had always done, and they didn’t see a reason to change.
I laid out the strategies side by side (QCD from IRA vs cash donation) to show them how utilizing the QCD would impact their taxes and how that would trickle down to their monthly cash-flow. When they saw that, they realized that they could save nearly $2,000 per year in taxes, which would add nearly $200 more in cash flow each month. When they understood the benefits, they saw it was worth changing how they made their donations to charities, and they became excited about switching over.

Our team will be at your side to help you make any adjustments to your plan as things change.
What do you enjoy about working with clients?
Through my education and experience, I have acquired a lot of knowledge in the field of Personal Finance. I love explaining things to people in a way that they can understand so that they understand the why as well as what I am recommending. I know my parents, like most retirees, did not have a full grasp of the things to be cautious about and the best ways to proceed when they transitioned into retirement. I want to help others avoid potential pitfalls so that they can minimize taxes, increase their investments, and live their dreams.

Hi, I’m Kristen, and I’ve been an associate advisor with Peterson Wealth for 2 years.
From a young age, my parents helped me learn the value of money through hard work. In high school, one of my teachers shared what a profound impact a good financial advisor had made in his life. That’s when I decided to become one myself. From my first meeting with a client, I realized even “simple” concepts, like compound growth or qualified charitable distributions, can be a major eye-opener for people. When I read Scott Peterson’s book Plan on Living, and met with the lead advisors at Peterson Wealth, I knew this is where I wanted to spend the rest of my career.
Working with clients isn’t just business. Sure, I absolutely love it when a financial plan or tax planning works perfectly. But even more, I love building long-term friendships with the families I work with—hearing about their travels, getting to know their families, and watching them focus on what matters most to them. Every client deserves a plan that is both practical and personal, and I want everyone I work with to feel comfortable and confident in their plan and know that our recommendations align with their best interests.

Recently we worked with a client who had been a diligent saver, consistently contributing to Roth accounts throughout his career. He was used to being in the 22% tax bracket. By carefully designing a retirement income strategy, we were able to keep him in the 12% bracket throughout retirement. Today, he and his spouse are enjoying the lifestyle they dreamed of with the confidence that their plan is both sustainable and tax-efficient.

Right now, my personal life consists of a lot of studying for the CFP® examination! Other than that, I love spending quality time with family. Growing up in Wyoming, I have a great love for the outdoors and especially the mountains. I love fly-fishing, hiking, hunting, skiing, boating, and shooting my shotgun and .22 pistol. Travel and exploring new places are ongoing passions, as is teaching primary-age children alongside my husband in our church ward.

I chose this career because I grew up knowing I wanted to work with people and help them have better lives. At first, I thought that meant I wanted to be a doctor, but I soon realized I wasn’t interested in biology or organic chemistry. What I grew up loving was investing. My dad taught me how to invest at a young age, and I spent my childhood learning about personal finance. So when I stumbled upon the Personal Financial Planning program at UVU and realized I could make a career of something I already loved, I jumped in with both feet.
These days, I truly enjoy getting to know our clients personally and meeting people from all different backgrounds. It’s awesome to be in a position to provide financial comfort to people so they can enjoy their retirement. Our approach here is personal. We take into account a lot more than just the dollars and cents of client situations, but also their needs, wants and goals. In the end, we want their retirement to be about what matters most to them.
I also love that I get to come to the office to work with my friends every day. I don’t think there’s a better work culture anywhere in Utah than what we have at Peterson.
My favorite client story
One of my clients needed to put her spouse in a memory care center and was very broken up about it. We provided her with the reassurance that they can afford a nice place for her husband, and that she doesn’t have to worry about the financial aspect of caring for him. Being able to make a hard situation easier and provide that relief to her meant a lot to me.

I’ve been married for four years to an amazing wife, and we have a one-year-old daughter. I absolutely love baseball, even though I don’t get to spend as much time on that hobby as I used to. I am also a HUGE foodie—I love trying new restaurants and have been to a few Michelin Star spots (all peak life experiences!). Every summer, I try to get out and do some boating with friends, and my wife and I travel whenever we can. So far, I’ve been to 12 different countries and have had wonderful experiences in all of them that have shaped who I am today. I love policy, politics, economics, geopolitics, etc. I listen to everything and anything I can about those topics.

Hi there, I’m Tom. While I just started at Peterson Wealth Advisors in early 2025, I like to say I’ve been financial planning my whole life. I distinctly remember buying my first piggy bank at age seven. I started investing when I was a teenager and absolutely loved learning about different stocks. The concept of using money to make more money fascinated me, and led me to Utah Valley University to study personal financial planning.
Now, as an associate advisor at Peterson Wealth Advisors, I enjoy getting to know each client’s story and helping them to make sure that story has a happy ending. The fact that I’m directly having a positive impact on the lives of so many people is incredibly gratifying. When working with clients, transparency is so important to me. I make sure to educate my clients on every recommendation I’m making, so they can walk into their retirement feeling confident, comfortable and informed.
My favorite client story
There are so many. I really wish every prospective client could get a look behind the scenes and see the amount of care and thought advisors give to each client. They’d be amazed! We are so deeply invested in the hopes and dreams of the families we serve. I often think that we’re just as happy as our clients when they reach their goals.

In my personal life, I love basketball, hiking, bowling, spending time with the family, $5 movie Tuesday, wake surfing, and backpacking. My family is very close-knit. I come from a family of 7 kids and I have 21 nieces and nephews and even one great niece!

I wish prospective clients could have the opportunity to fully understand how genuinely invested Peterson Wealth will be in helping them achieve their goals and reach financial peace of mind.

Simply put, my goal for every client at Peterson Wealth Advisors is to help them live as joyous of a life as possible. By reducing financial stress, developing a lasting trusted relationship, and helping clients to reach their goals. I hope to add more than just monetary value.
What do you enjoy most about working with clients?
I love building relationships with clients, hearing their stories, and then implementing financial strategies to make their stories even better. Every client brings a different set of puzzle pieces to the table, taking those pieces and creating a plan that is going to align with their dreams is where I find joy in my work.

I’m Ali, an Associate Advisor at Peterson Wealth. Every day, I get to work with clients and take uncertainty out of their futures, helping them move forward more confidently. It’s a rewarding way to spend my time.
Before I became a financial planner, people told me that this career was the perfect blend of the technical and the personal. And they were absolutely right! As someone who loves math, strategizing, and learning, I truly enjoy digging through spreadsheets to find the best technical solutions for my clients, and also get such fulfillment in connecting with families each day and helping them live their best retirement. There’s no other career that would allow me to marry these two skills!
My favorite client story
Recently, we had a prospect come in who was very organized in her finances. She came in, laid out all of her notes and spreadsheets, and asked what we could do for her. After explaining the Perennial Income Model(™), how it would look in her situation, and how we work to remove any worries about her financial picture, she decided she wanted to come on board.
Just one month later, her husband passed away. In her grief, she was comforted even more than before by the fact that she would not have to think about her financial future on her own. In a time that she could have felt alone and overwhelmed, we were in her corner so she could offload all of that worry.

I’m always on the lookout for great book recommendations, so if you have any, send them my way!

Hi there, I’m Scott. I joined Peterson Wealth Advisors because I value doing work that really helps people. Most people spend their entire lives pursuing financial security. The idea of becoming an expert in something so meaningful and using that expertise to help others find freedom and confidence is what led me to financial planning.
I’ll be graduating from UVU with a degree in Personal Financial Planning in December 2025 and passed the CFP® exam in Fall 2025. My goal as an Associate Advisor is simple: I want to make sure every client who walks through our doors leaves feeling they’ve received the best financial service in the world.
I love being part of our clients’ retirement transition because it’s such a pivotal moment in their lives. After decades of hard work, helping someone maximize their enjoyment of the years ahead is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a privilege to share in their stories, experiences, and goals, and to help ensure those continue for many years to come.
My favorite client story
This is a story I have seen many times: a soon-to-retire client walks in unsure, anxious, and feeling overwhelmed. But after sitting down and going through the Perennial Income Model™, you can feel that weight lift. They walk out with a bigger smile and a lighter step, knowing they’re on track and that they have a plan. It is a surefire sign that what we do here at Peterson works, and that moment never gets old.

I grew up in American Fork, Utah, the oldest of seven kids. At American Fork High School, I was active in music, playing in the wind ensemble, advanced jazz band, and marching band. These days, I live in Pleasant Grove with my amazing wife, and when I’m not working, I’m probably doing something cycling related. I love endurance sports, like mountain and road biking, as well as running and triathlons. I also love camping, reading, and watching great movies. This past summer I had a blast coaching the American Fork High School mountain bike team and am excited to be a part of their program in the future.

Adisen graduated from Westminster University in 2023 with a dual degree in Psychology and Sociology. After college, she worked at a mental health treatment facility as an Admissions Coordinator, where she supported individuals seeking care for PTSD and other mental health conditions. Adisen coordinated the intake process from start to finish, helping families navigate logistics while also getting to know them on a personal level during a vulnerable time. That experience taught her the importance of clarity, organization, and compassion when people are making big life decisions.
What drew Adisen into financial services was realizing how deeply connected money and emotional well-being really are. Financial stress impacts almost everyone at some point, and she saw an opportunity to help people in a proactive way by supporting stability and long-term security.
Adisen grew up in Draper, Utah and still loves being surrounded by the mountains. She is always looking for a new adventure, whether that means traveling somewhere new, trying something different, or simply making good memories with friends and family.
